Ami Likes Cough Drops

Monday, November 3, 2008

Two nights ago I was struggling with a sleepless night. We have been passing around the "cold" in our house the last week. Well I had it and was unable to sleep. After an hour or so I decided to get a cough drop. I opened my night stand where there is a bag of cough drops and began to try to pry open the ziplock type seal on the bag to get to the drops. It caused a little noise and out of nowhere Ami began hitting me in the side quite forcefully.

I wasn't that stunned since she often hits me during the night in order to get me to stop snoring or stop breathing into her face. However this time she was hitting much harder than normal and wasn't letting up. I said:

"I'm just getting a cough drop."

Ami said, "Oh, Can I have one?"

I said, "Sure."

I gave her one and she went back to sleep. She doesn't remember this at all but says that around 5am she woke up and couldn't remember why she had a cough drop in her mouth.

This is hysterical... I can just see the bruising on your delicate ribcage-- the best part is that she woke up not having a clue why she has a cough drop in her mouth! This totally made my day!

I literally was lol when I was reading that. I wasn't ROTFLOL, because that's just inappropriate to do at work.

Thanks for the laugh.

These are the moments that prove your marriage is solid...as solid as a slug in the side. And give you joy in the morning, and every time you remember.

Perhaps this was a subconscious way for me to punish you for something you did to upset me. Or... perhaps I'm so addicted to cough drops, I take them without realizing it. Or... perhaps I has having a nightmare about zip locks. Whatever the reason; thanks for the cough drop.

Thank you for opening Chris' eyes to the fact that I'm not the only one who hits my husband in the middle of the night. He takes it way to personally.
